End of the Road
I've had my briefcase for about six years now. It was nothing special, mind you, but it's done me great service since I purchased it from (I believe) Sears or Wal-Mart. But it's time to say goodbye. Tattered, handle disintegrating, spring-loaded locks bent or no longer springing...yes, it's time to put it down and replace it with--well, something not as formal (a backpack), but possibly more flexible and easier to carry around. So I must bid the briefcase farewell, and put it down myself. That's the only humane thing to do. I'll make sure it gets a decent burial and all. Just talk amongst yourselves...I need a minute or two alone. It's too painful.
