Potpourri XXXIX

Morgan keeps going strong, and is handling her life with a lot more grace and positive attitude than I did today. When you can no longer respond rationally and lose your temper, you've lost the argument...whatever it is. Stupid. I should know better.

Got an email from Dan Linehan, author of SpaceShipOne: An Illustrated History. He's doing well. The book is on its second printing, which is great after being in print for a year in this economy. If you haven't bought a copy, it's worth a look. Some great behind-the-scenes photography of Burt Rutan's operation. My review can be found here.

Aviation Week has an interview with Norm Augustine, for those interested in learning what the guy reviewing NASA's human spaceflight program is thinking. And along those same lines, here's the last report Mr. Augustine chaired for NASA.

Oh, for gosh sakes...President Obama says that our current level of borrowing and spending is "unsustainable," but he's the one whose budget exceeds all of the 43 presidents who came before him! Boy oh boy, I'm glad we got that hope-and-change thing going.

Kudos to whoever found this: a site featuring the worst or "best" (depending on your point of view) text messages/exchanges you or your friends have sent. Warning: deplorable language and morals included.

Headline of the day from Hu: "2060: Humvee-sized, bulletproof man-eating spiders." Never mind the Zombie Apocalypse...

From Scott, a couple of links regarding the Buffalo crash:

That's all, I guess. Long week. Hoping for more sanity (from me, not the world) next week.
